UBCF provides useful, high-quality donated products to breast cancer patients, families and those in need. Donations valued over $12 Million Dollars.

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (PRWEB) DECEMBER 14, 2020

United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF), a GuideStar Platinum rated charity, is proud to share news of the overwhelming success of their Gift-in-Kind (GIK) Program. UBCF has provided over $12 Million dollars worth of high-quality and useful products to breast cancer patients, families and those in need. Whether it be Tempur-Pedic® mattresses, hand sanitizer, face masks, makeup, clothing, shoes, daily essentials, or even a pick-me-up Pink Bag full of gifts, UBCF has helped people all across the nation. UBCF has delivered products to those in need and will continue to be there, now and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, through the support of Gifts-in-kind.

Every kind of giving is valuable when it comes to your heart, but one to keep in mind is in-kind. In-kind gifts are contributions of goods or services, other than a financial donation. A gift-in-kind can help UBCF assist the thousands of patients and survivors that turn to them for services and support, AND help donors be more generous than they might have been able to do otherwise during this pandemic. To make an in-kind contribution to UBCF, email GIKProgram@ubcf.org.

Moira, a UBCF client recently received a king size mattress. “Picking up my Tempur-pedic mattress was an early Christmas present that brought tears to my eyes. I already slept on it and had the best night’s sleep. I want to thank all involved who helped to make this gift possible for me. As a breast cancer survivor I have had many sleepless nights and I am sure this mattress will enable me to have many restful nights in the years to come. UBCF made the pick up so easy and had all your helpers ready to assist my husband to put in our truck. Both of us were so appreciative! I want to thank all of you for the work you do in bringing joy to all of us who have endured breast cancer and wish you a joyous holiday season!”

Gifts-in-kind mean lower costs for UBCF so more funds can be directed to patient and family programs, assisting more women, men and families nationwide. UBCF programs include: Individual Grant, Holistic Care, Community Service, Child Sponsorship, Breast screening, Breast Reconstructive Surgery and the Audrey B. Mastroianni College Scholarship.

Executive Director Stephanie Mastroianni shared, “During these uncertain times, UBCF has been working hard to answer the call of our patients, their families and those in need across the country. Thanks to the people and communities’ amazing support, we’ve been able to assist more than 300 patients and their families with nearly $240,000 in products through our COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Program which helps ease the burden of cancer patients sheltering at home.”

1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Per the National Cancer Institute (NCI), over 40,000 women and men will lose their lives to this deadly disease each year. Early detection of breast cancer helps save lives. UBCF encourages women and men to learn the self breast exam, available at no cost here. Please visit ubcf.org for more information.
