UBCF’s PSA Promoting Early Detection of Breast Cancer – Play on 2016 Presidential Candidates
On October 13th, UBCF launched a new Public Service Announcement (PSA) as a play on the 2016 presidential campaign, “2016 Early Detection Saves Lives.” The PSA is airing on a prominent, 29’ x 56’ full HD screen billboard in New York City’s Times Square now through Election Day, November 8, 2016. The spot, airing at 1500 Broadway, is 10 seconds long and runs 3 times per hour, 20 hours a day. Neutron Media assisted with creative production.
UBCF’s PSA’s message highlights early detection with a mash-up of the presidential candidates campaign slogans: “MAKING AMERICAN BREASTS STRONGER TOGETHER.” According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), an estimated 40,450 women will lose their lives to this deadly disease. Early detection of breast cancer helps saves lives. The 5-year survival rates has increased from 75.2% in 1975 to 90.6% in 2008, the latest numbers for this data available from the NCI. UBCF’s Breast Screening Program supports women and men with free or low-cost breast screenings to ensure that all people have access to proper medical care.
Times Square is the epicenter of New York City, with it’s own visitor center and museum and attractions such as NBC News and Saturday Night Live, Planet Hollywood, TKTS Booth as well as numerous restaurants and hotels and of course the New Years celebration since 1903.
