Huntington Station, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2014
The United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF), a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is pleased to announce wonderful over-all program growth of 27.5% from 2012 to 2013. Growth was measured based on funds expended per program. UBCF is on track to report similar over-all program growth for 2014.
UBCF offers the community life-supporting patient and family programs in addition to Gifts-in-Kind (GIK) receipt and distribution. The Foundation receives requests for support from these programs on a daily basis, and is currently reviewing dozens of applications.
The Individual Grant Program offers custom-tailored financial support to women and men currently managing breast cancer or within three years remission. The goal of this program is to reduce the stress and strain that cancer causes so healing can begin. UBCF understands that far-reaching effect breast cancer has on every member of the family, and considers the needs of the entire family during the review process. The IG Program includes financial support for medical procedures, prescription medications, COBRA insurance coverage, housing expenses, utilities, prosthetic devices, therapeutic treatments, transportation expenses, complementary care, and healthy, nutritious foods. This unique support program exemplifies the level of care and effort UBCF demonstrates for clients.
