Two-day event assists breast cancer patients and survivors in the Philadelphia area

United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) hosted an incredibly successful two-day Tempur-Pedic® Mattress & Pink Bag Event® in Hatboro, PA on Friday June 14th and Saturday June 15th. Through UBCF’s long-standing partnership with Good360, over 400 breast cancer patients and survivors received Tempur-Pedic® mattresses and Pink Bags full of goodies. The over-all value of items distributed during the two-day event totals over $3.7 million, making this event UBCF’s largest in history.

The weather was beautiful during both days, keeping the energy high and everyone in good spirits. News outlets 6 ABC Action News PhiladelphiaNortheast Times and WDEL 101.7 ran pieces on the event and several stations covered the event live including Fox 29 Philadelphia and NBC 10 Philadelphia. Additionally, Tempur-Sealy Vice President of Sales Development, Jim O’Donnell attended and enjoyed the event. UBCF is working to host an event in Louisville, Kentucky – stay tuned.

Since 2012, UBCF has provided nearly 3,500 Tempur-Pedic® mattresses at no cost to breast cancer patients and survivors. The trusted Tempur-Pedic® Mattress brand offers the comfort and support necessary to promote a good night’s sleep, something that is vitally important to the healing process and improving the quality of life for those touched by breast cancer. To add to the excitement of the day, UBCF provided every recipient Pink Bags filled with awesome goodies such as clothing, makeup and skin care from trusted name brands. A Selfie Photo Booth was on hand to capture smiles from UBCF clients, a big hit!

UBCF received some incredible Thank You’s from event recipients, read below:

“Wow!! Just wow!!! Thank you so much for your generosity with the Mattresses!!! Last night I went to bed at 10 pm and woke up at 8:30 am! Before this mattress I would have been up two / three times and the tossing and turning was non-stop. You see our mattress was 14 years old and quite frankly we needed a new one but that was on the bottom of the list of our needs!! Thank you and God Bless you all!!! Love, Jeanneen M”

“As I lay on my new Tempur-pedic mattress, I want to thank the United Breast Cancer Foundation for the amazing event! I slept so well last night! #UCBF #pinkbagevent #tempurpedic #mymomsasurvivor #iwillsurvive2 Jessica M.”

“I am very picky about Mattresses… I LOVE this mattress. I was waking up in pain every morning and didn’t think much about it until sleeping on the Temper-pedic. The past 2 mornings I actually noticed I wasn’t in pain. Such an amazing thing to do for others, I am so grateful for the gift from your amazing foundation. THANK YOU, Amy C”

“I would like to thank you again for a wonderful nights sleep FINALLY. I’ve have had so many surgeries that sleep has been very hard the past 4 years. It’s programs like yours that make patients like me feel as if life is worth living. I didn’t think I would ever feel this normal again!!! Deadrid B”

UBCF’s Executive Director, Ms. Stephanie Mastroianni shared, “It is deeply humbling to be a part of so many people’s lives. I am so inspired by the strength of our clients. It gives us perspective on what is genuinely important.” Mastroianni continued, “UBCF, Tempur-Sealy and Good360 are truly improving the quality of life for hundreds of women, men and children impacted by breast cancer. Nothing feels better than feeling better!!!”

UBCF will host a second Tempur-Pedic® Mattress & Pink Bag Event® on Saturday, July 13th, giving away twin and queen size mattresses to male and female breast cancer patients, survivors and their children 18 or younger in Hatboro, PA.
