updated March 23, 2020

Dear clients, friends & supporters,

United Breast Cancer Foundation understands that in this time of information overload, crisis and rapidly changing conditions, things can feel overwhelming and down-right scary. We want you to know that your immediate health and safety is our #1 top priority.

Please know that we are closely monitoring the situation and stand with you in service to our community. While we cannot know how long we will be impacted by Coronavirus (COVID-19), we do know and trust that, “this too, shall pass”. In the meantime, we urge you to follow the guidance of local, state and federal government and health officials: stay home, practice social distancing, wash your hands, stay informed and stay safe. We all must do our part in the effort to keep everyone safe.

Coronavirus & Cancer

According to the American Society of Clinical Oncology, “People with cancer, people who are in active cancer treatment, older patients, and people with other serious chronic medical conditions, such as lung disease, diabetes, or heart disease, may be at higher risk for the more severe form of COVID-19. The same rules apply for people with cancer as for those without cancer: Be sure to wash your hands well, and wash them frequently. Avoid touching your face, and avoid close contact with people who are sick.”

The American Cancer Society answers some common questions about the Coronavirus outbreak.

UBCF Operations

At this time, UBCF offices are closed in accordance with the New York State “On PAUSE” executive order implemented by Governor Andrew Cuomo. The executive order, effective as of 8 pm on March 22, is a 10-point policy to assure uniform safety for everyone.  We have postponed events and are limiting contact based on the CDC’s recommendations for health and social distancing. Applications will be not accepted nor processed at this time.  Our staff is accessible by phone and email on a limited basis. Thank you for your patience – we will get through this together!
